NAPA, Calif., July 31, 2023 – The Fortinet Championship announced today that spectators, sponsors and players planning to attend the tournament set for Sept. 14–17, 2023 will experience several new course enhancements to celebrate ten years of Silverado Resort hosting the fan-favorite tournament.
“Each year we try to improve upon the previous year, and this year is no exception,” said executive director Andy McDowell. “Enhancing the fan, sponsor, and player experience is a key priority for us. The new additions we’ve incorporated for this year’s tournament will really bring our event to the next level.”
Three of the primary enhancements are the rerouting of the North Course, new onsite parking, and a new entrance featuring a Fan Village. The course was rerouted to make the final stretch of holes more accessible to pedestrians, highlight the course’s signature par-3 down the stretch, and provide room for growth in future years for additional activations, spectator seating, and private hospitality offerings. Ten holes will be played in a different order. Holes 1-7 and 18 will remain as in year’s past. The new finishing stretch – No. 14 (par 4), No. 15 (par 5), No. 16 (par 4), No. 17 (par 3) and No. 18 (par 5) – will bring thrilling action for players with the inclusion of a par 3 among closing holes, as well as an easy walking loop for spectators looking for a front row view. The signature par-3 on the course – member’s No. 11 – will become tournament No.17.
Additionally, fans will now be able to park along the South Course. Vehicles can access the new parking area via two access points on Hillcrest Drive with daily parking passes available starting at $25. With the majority of PGA TOUR events requiring spectators to park offsite and shuttle to the course, the expanded parking area will allow a seamless travel experience for spectators.
Along with the on-course enhancements, the main tournament entrance will get a brand-new look and location. Located near The Grove and the second hole on the South Course, fans will enter through oak trees with picturesque views of the Silverado Mansion, golf course, concert stage and new Fan Village.
Several local food options will be available at the Fan Village including Bouchon Bakery Cookies, Model Bakery English Muffins, the Original Burger Dog, El Porteno Empanadas, and sweets from The Chocolate Dippery. There will also be merchandise sales, bar areas and activation stations to create a fun, welcoming area for fans and to serve as a meeting place before or after the tournament.
“We are committed to providing a fantastic experience for attendees and supporting the local community with a PGA TOUR golf tournament in Napa,” said Jim Overbeck, Senior Vice President of Marketing, at Fortinet. “We are really excited about these new additions for this year and can’t wait to see the fans’ reaction when they arrive on course.”
The Fortinet Championship welcomes a combination of top-tier players and rising stars. Notable participants have included Max Homa, Jon Rahm, Hideki Matsuyama, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Will Zalatoris, Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay and more.
The event kicks off with pro-ams and practice days for players before shifting into thrilling tournament play on Thursday, Sept. 14 on the North Course. Brothers Osborne and Judah & the Lion are set to headline the Friday night concert with Saturday night acts being announced on Aug. 8.
Spectators have a variety of ticket options to choose from to experience the new course enhancements, concert series and tournament play ranging from daily grounds tickets to the luxurious all-inclusive Vintners Club. Daily grounds tickets start at $45 and up to four kids under the age of 15 are free with one adult ticket.
The Premium Pass returns again this year for spectators that are looking for an upgraded experience. Premium Pass ticket holders will enjoy stunning views from two club areas at the 18th tee and the new 15th green with all-inclusive beer, wine, soda, water, lunch and premium restrooms. Premium pass holders also receive access to a new elevated concert viewing area on Friday and Saturday nights with inclusive beer, wine, soda, water and snacks. Cocktails are available for purchase at all locations. Premium pass tickets start at $150 daily.
The Vintners Club tickets allow club members to live large in a private chalet on the 18th green, featuring an inclusive full bar, the finest offerings of wine on the course, morning pastries, refreshments, an upscale lunch and afternoon snack, daily wine and spirits tastings, along with access to premium restrooms. In addition to the luxurious accommodations, members receive one VIP ticket for the performances on Friday and Saturday and can beat the crowds with one VIP parking pass for each pair of tickets purchased per day. Tickets start at $450 daily.
